the yankee track Awards took the time to honor the overdue
and notable Prince on Sunday night, awarding the tune icon and his family with
the trophy for Soundtrack of the year for “pink Rain,” which noticed a surge in
income following his tragic dying in April.
His sister Tyka Nelson went onstage to just accept the award
and gave a touching tribute to her brother, who died from an overdose of
fentanyl at the age of 57.
“Prince defied the percentages,” Nelson advised the crowd.
“A black teenager from Minneapolis with a aim to electrify the arena, he had
the courage to be distinctive. along with his vision and God-given skills, he's
still one of the global’s most reputable and cherished artists. but what he
told me turned into he desired to be known as the arena’s maximum prolific
songwriter and with 984 titles to his credit and counting, he has carried out
just that. in the phrases of Prince, ‘With love, honor and respect for each
living component within the universe, separation ceases and we all emerge as
one being singing one tune.’”
She concluded by way of acknowledging her siblings and
honoring their brother’s reminiscence.
“On behalf of Prince, our super friend, teacher and brother,
I humbly receive this award. And me, my brother Omar, my brother Alfred, my
sister Sharon, my sister Noreen and my brother John, we’ll keep this for you at
Paisley Park till we see you once more, this is for you,” she stated via
tears.
